Board approves superintendent’s evaluation tool, discusses college and career readiness progress
Trustees approved the tool they will use for evaluating Superintendent of Schools Dan Troxell, Ph.D., including 18 performance goals. The board set goals for Leander ISD earlier this year, aligned performance measures under each of those goals, and worked with advisory committees, including teachers and parents, to review the evaluation tool. In monitoring progress, the trustees reviewed the status of goals aligned with college and career readiness, including scores on college readiness exams, professional licensure and certification, and entrance into a four-year and two-year college.

LISD to consider program expansion, addition
The district will consider expansion of junior varsity athletic and fine arts programs, academic clubs, and special school models, including standalone academies and schools-within-schools models, as part of its program advisory committee. The Districtwide Educational Improvement Council (DWEIC), including parent and teacher representation from every school, will review possible expansion of these programs, reporting in January 2018.
